Bryan Wrigley | Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Since its inception in 2007, Lotus Company has evolved into a dynamic and award-winning property venture and hospitality organization with a ground-up asset portfolio in excess of $200M, and a current $260M development pipeline encompassing some of the most diverse and engaging projects along the Wasatch Front.
Prior to forming Lotus Company, Bryan held executive management, project management, partnership and acquisition advisory roles in multiple real estate organizations from a NYSE-traded real estate investment trust, to a regional investment company and a New York City boutique developer. Bryan has acted as principal or in a principal-advisory role in property acquisitions, dispositions and financing valued at more than $600M over the course of his 20-year career in real estate development and investment.
Bryan holds a Master’s Degree with an emphasis in Real Estate Development and Finance from Columbia University. Additionally, Bryan earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah and completed a program in Japanese Studies at Cornell University. In 2014, Bryan was recognized by Utah Business Magazine as one of Utah’s top business executives under the age of 40.

Joe Torman | President of Construction and Development
Joining Lotus Company in 2018, Joe brings with him over 20 years of experience in the construction and development industries. After graduating with a degree in Construction Management from Brigham Young University, Joe began his career with Kier Construction where he managed pre-construction services for multi-family, industrial and commercial projects ranging in value from $5M to over $50M. Following his successful 11-year tenure with Kier, Joe joined Parleys Partners as Director of Construction, where he oversaw multiple $15M+ multi-phase apartment projects as a partner. In alignment with Lotus’ goal of sustainable and intentional development, Joe is LEED accredited and has successfully managed the implementation of Enterprise Green Communities and Energy Star Certification on over 1,200 dwelling units. Joe and his family enjoy the natural splendor of their home state whenever possible; skiing, snowboarding and canyoneering along the Wasatch Front.
Doug Hofeling | President of Hospitality
In 2019, the scope of development for Lotus grew to include best-in-class hospitality brands and ventures. It was at this time that Lotus brought proven operator, Doug Hofeling, on board as President of Hospitality. After earning a degree in Political Science from the University of Utah, Doug began his career with Salt Lake Brewing Co. in 2000. Doug rose through the ranks of management quickly, eventually becoming Chief Operating Officer over five branded Brew Pubs, one Tap Room and 400+ employees throughout Salt Lake and Park City. Doug served concurrently as Vice President of Brew Pubs on a national platform for SLBC’s parent company, CANarchy Brewery Collective, overseeing 17 food and beverage operations from coast to coast from 2016 until joining Lotus in early 2019. Utah-born and bred, Doug is an avid outdoorsman and claims to be a skilled snowboarder.
James Soares | Chief Operating Officer
After earning concurrent undergraduate degrees in Biology and Organic Chemistry from the University of Maine, as well as his MBA from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute, James began his career with Westinghouse Laboratories in hazardous waste management. In 2000, James made a dramatic career shift, joining Salt Lake Brewing Co., the parent company of Squatters Craft Beers & Wasatch Brewery, as Director of Operations. During his tenure with SLBC, James focused heavily on corporate environmental responsibility. James was the driving force behind several high profile, citywide sustainability initiatives, including curbside glass recycling and the commercial grade food waste digester program, both of which have left an indelible mark on Salt Lake County and beyond. In his free time, James enjoys being bested on the tennis court by his partner, Jackie.
Chandler Leetzow | Vice President of Finance
Having spent 12 years in an advisory role within his own firm prior to joining Lotus, Chandler brings not only a profound wealth of knowledge in system/process design to the team, but also a deeply strategic and analytical understanding of financial management. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Utah and becoming a Certified Financial Planner, Chandler provided contract CFO and Controller services for myriad companies, ranging in size from $2M to $100M in annual revenue. Chandler takes advantage of the unrivaled natural beauty of Utah whenever possible, fly fishing and backpacking in the Uinta Mountains and beyond.
Brian Van Gorp | Vice President of Construction
Brian brings vast commercial construction knowledge to the team at Lotus, which he joined as VP of Construction in 2019. After serving honorably in the U.S. Military for six years, Brian worked as a Project Engineer for Kier Construction, and a Construction Manager for the Office of the Mayor in Kaua’i. Prior to joining Lotus, Brian was most recently employed as a Project Manager at Layton Construction where he was responsible for the construction of a $101M resort on the island of Kaua’i, as well as a $348M high-rise in Oahu. Brian holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Weber State University and is accredited as a Certified Professional Constructor. Brian and his wife Jennifer spend as much time outdoors as they can – canyoneering, climbing and generally enjoying The Greatest Snow on Earth.
Lauren Boyack | Vice President of Marketing
After earning her Degree from the University of Utah with an emphasis in Public Relations and Journalism, Lauren began her career with a boutique marketing firm based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a primary focus on account management, media relations and digital communication for a diverse range of nationally and internationally known brands. Prior to joining Lotus in 2019, Lauren most recently served as Manager of Brand & Communications for Squatters Craft Beers & Wasatch Brewery, bringing a unique understanding of the highly competitive craft beer industry to Lotus’ burgeoning hospitality vertical. Lauren does not feel that funeral potatoes technically qualify as a classic Midwestern “hotdish” but has otherwise fully embraced her adopted home state.
Reed Spampinato | Director of Asset Management
Reed joined the Lotus team in 2019 after five years spent honing his skills in San Francisco, working for large scale real estate investors managing private equity real estate funds with assets along the West Coast, as well as in London and Switzerland. Having overseen portfolios as large as $250M in value, Reed brings an impressive knowledge of accounting oversight, real estate & financial management to Lotus. Reed holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University. Triathlete in training, Reed epitomizes the bachelor lifestyle in downtown Salt Lake City.
Patrick Bourque | Director of Brewing
Patrick began his journey to master brewer where most craft beer enthusiasts do – homebrewing. With a lot of self-education and a preternatural knack for the craft, it was only a matter of time before he began to amass medals in local and national competitions. He made the decision to pursue beer full-time, taking an entry-level position with Uinta Brewing, while simultaneously pursuing certification in Brewing Science through the American Brewing Guild. In 2017, Patrick was offered the opportunity to build SaltFire Brewing from the ground up, where he wrote and developed every recipe in their initial line-up. Patrick eventually returned to Uinta, Utah’s largest craft beer producer, where he most recently held the title of Head Brewer. Patrick brings unparalleled production and quality control experience, as well as creative brewing talent to the team at Lotus Craft. Patrick is partial to lagers, but describes his first taste of New Belgium’s La Folie sour brown as nothing short of mind-blowing.
Kelcie Welch | Director of Design
Kelcie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Weber State University, where she is also an Instructor for the Interior Design Program and sits on the Program’s Advisory Board. Prior to bringing her passion for all things design to Lotus, Kelcie worked at the global retailer IKEA as an Interior Design Manager where her work took her worldwide, having the opportunity to live in Sweden, Canada, and Las Vegas. She mostly recently worked at JZW Architects as Director of Interior Design, overseeing the implementation of the design process and project management. Kelcie has a diverse and impressive portfolio of work under her belt, including multifamily, retail, office, assisted living, healthcare, and residential projects. Kelcie enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, loves playing board games, and jumps at the chance to travel and meet new people.
